Related organizations and companies will establish an organic cooperation system to create a hydrogen industry ecosystem and a value chain in Busan.
The Busan Metropolitan Government announced on the 11th that it will hold a "Busan Hydrogen Alliance Formation Ceremony" at Lotte Hotel Busan to foster and develop the Busan hydrogen industry.
Earlier in December last year, the city prepared a plan to foster the hydrogen industry in Busan at the 21st emergency economic countermeasure meeting. According to the promotion plan, the Busan Metropolitan Government will invest 2.4031 trillion won (including 1.6628 trillion won) over the next 10 years in four areas, including the creation of a hydrogen company ecosystem, the creation of an eco-friendly green hydrogen foundation, joint response to the future hydrogen society, and expansion of citizens' supply.
The formation ceremony is the first step in creating an ecosystem for hydrogen companies. With Busan Techno Park at the center, 18 local related organizations and representative hydrogen companies will work together to establish a cooperative system for industry, research, and government, and create a value chain for Busan's hydrogen industry.
Panasia, Correns, Kumyang, Donghwa Ntech, NK, Daechang Solutions, Eunice, DH Controls, Hariana, Daeha, Daedo Heisen, Junjin Ntech, Yeongdo Industrial, Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power, Dongsung Hwiatek, Dongin Electric, Busan City Gas, and Pan-Han Fuel Cell participated in the hydrogen alliance.
The business agreement includes establishing an organic business cooperation system between institutions and companies to revitalize the Busan hydrogen industry and promoting the development of the regional hydrogen economy through mutual cooperation.
In the future, the hydrogen alliance will be operated in three areas: hydrogen storage, carrier, fuel cell, and fuel cell peripheral mechanical devices (BOP), and carbon dioxide capture, utilization, and storage technology (CCUS).
Companies have decided to actively participate in technology development, technology advancement, hydrogen cluster complex creation, and professional manpower training for hydrogen-related products.
Busan Mayor Park Hyung-joon said, "Starting with the formation of the hydrogen alliance, we plan to help automobile and shipbuilding equipment companies that are struggling with the COVID-19 crisis to convert to hydrogen-oriented companies," adding, "We will promote various hydrogen industry policies to create quality jobs and support companies to create engines for success."
